In the spring of 1981, a young man was flown\u00a0<\/strong>into desolate northern Alaska to photograph the<\/strong>
\nnatural beauty and mysteries of the tundra.\u00a0<\/strong>He took along 500 rolls of film, several firearms,<\/strong>
\nand 1,400 pounds of provisions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“As the months passed, the words in his diary\u00a0<\/strong>changed from wonder and fascination into a<\/strong>
\nnightmare. In August he wrote, ‘I think I should\u00a0<\/strong>have used more foresight about arranging my<\/strong>
\ndeparture. I’ll soon find out.’ In November he\u00a0<\/strong>died in a nameless valley, by a nameless lake,<\/strong>
\n225 miles northeast of Fairbanks. An investigation\u00a0<\/strong>revealed that though he had carefully planned his\u00a0<\/strong>trip, he had made no provision to be flown out.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Difficult to imagine isn’t it? How could anyone be\u00a0<\/strong>so foolish or even forgetful? He made every<\/strong>
\nprovision for his journey except how to get home!<\/strong>
\nUnbelievable!<\/strong><\/p>\n

“How tragic,” we say. And yet, how many of us make\u00a0<\/strong>every provision for life here on earth but no<\/strong>
\npreparation for our departure? God has warned us in\u00a0<\/strong>his Word, the Bible, that there is life after death …<\/strong>
\nafter which is God’s judgment. And as he warned the\u00a0<\/strong>nation of Israel to prepare to meet God – Amos 4:12.\u00a0<\/strong>He warns us to do the same. We need to do this today.\u00a0<\/strong>After death it is too late. As God’s Word also says,\u00a0<\/strong>“It is appointed unto men once to die, but after\u00a0<\/strong>this the judgment.” – Hebrews 9:27.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And how do we prepare to meet God? By confessing our\u00a0<\/strong>sins to God and accepting his Son, Jesus, as our\u00a0<\/strong>personal Lord and Savior. Doing this is getting our\u00a0<\/strong>“passport to Eternity in Heaven.” Whatever you do,\u00a0<\/strong>don’t leave earth without it!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
