According to Doug Batchelor in his book,<\/strong>
\nBroken Chains, “There’s a story about two Filipino<\/strong>
\nbrothers, identical twins, who lived in Manila and<\/strong>
\nmade their living by driving jeepneys, Filipino taxis.<\/strong>
\nThough they were twins and had similar jobs, they<\/strong>
\nlived very different lives. One was married and had<\/strong>
\nchildren; the other was single. Then one day, the<\/strong>
\nmarried brother accidentally struck and killed a<\/strong>
\ntourist with his taxi. Accused of reckless driving,<\/strong>
\nthe twin was sentenced to twenty years in the<\/strong>
\nnotorious Manila prison\u2014a devastating fate that would<\/strong>
\nleave his wife and children without an income.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“One day, his twin came to visit him in prison.<\/strong>
\nHe said, ‘Brother, your family desperately needs you.<\/strong>
\nPut on my clothes and take my visitor’s pass and<\/strong>
\nI will put on your prison uniform and serve the rest<\/strong>
\nof your sentence. Go to your family.’ So, while the<\/strong>
\nguards were not looking, the twins exchanged clothes,<\/strong>
\nand the married brother walked out of the prison<\/strong>
\nunchallenged. Do you think the twin who was freed<\/strong>
\ncould ever stop thinking about the sacrifice that his<\/strong>
\nbrother made in trading places with him?”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Though having limitations it is still a powerful<\/strong>
\nillustration of what Jesus Christ did for you and me<\/strong>
\n2,000 years ago when he exchanged places with you and<\/strong>
\nme and died in our place on the cross of Calvary.<\/strong>
\nHe did this out of his great love for us to pay the<\/strong>
\npenalty for all of our sins, so we could be freely<\/strong>
\nforgiven by God and receive his gift of eternal life<\/strong>
\nin Heaven to be with him forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you have never thanked Jesus for dying in your place<\/strong>
\nto pay the penalty for your sins and accepted God’s gift<\/strong>
\nof forgiveness and eternal life, We urge you to do this<\/strong>
