I knelt to pray but not for long,
\nI had too much to do.
\nI had to hurry and get to work
\nFor bills would soon be due.
\nSo I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
\nAnd jumped up off my knees.
\nMy Christian duty was now done
\nMy soul could rest at ease…..
\nAll day long I had no time
\nTo spread a word of cheer
\nNo time to speak of Christ to friends,
\nThey’d laugh a at me I’d fear.
\nNo time, no time, too much to do,
\nThat was my constant cry,
\nNo time to give to souls in need
\nBut at last the time, the time to die
\nI went before the Lord,
\nI came, I stood with downcast eyes.
\nFor in his hands God Held a book;
\nIt was the book of life.
\nGod looked into his book and said
\n“Your name I cannot find
\nI once was going to write it down…
\nBut never found the time.”<\/p>\n
